Boden’s Bump to One Journey

There’s something incredibly special about getting to photograph life’s biggest moments for the same family. I first met Leighann and Joe when I photographed their wedding at The Monastery in 2021. When they reached out again to tell me they were expecting, I was so excited to continue documenting their next adventure—welcoming their baby boy, Boden and capturing his bump to one journey.

Boden’s bump to one photography journey has been filled with meaningful moments, beautiful locations, and so much personality.

We began with their maternity session in Dayton, choosing the Dayton Art Institute and the Masonic Temple as our backdrops. The evening sun gave us the dreamiest golden light, and Leighann glowed in her green maternity dress. It was the perfect way to celebrate the anticipation of their first baby.

Next came Boden’s newborn lifestyle session, captured right in their cozy home just days after he was born. We documented sweet, natural moments as a new family of three—including a special appearance from their curious cat! These in-home newborn sessions are always a favorite for their relaxed, intimate feel.

At six months old, we met at Wegerzyn Gardens MetroPark for a fall milestone session complete with pumpkins and rich autumn colors. Boden’s big smiles and growing personality made it so much fun.

We wrapped up the year with his first birthday cake smash session on a breezy April day. We barely missed a rainstorm, but Boden dove face-first into his cake like a champ. Frosting everywhere and one very happy birthday boy!
